Your Arrival

Get ready for a warm welcome! Your adventure begins the moment you arrive, with our airport pick-up on Sunday at Bandaranayake International Airport (CMB). 

To ensure a smooth transition, we’ll provide you with all the necessary arrival and contact details when you book your program. The local team will be waiting for you, ready to transfer you to your accommodation where you’ll meet fellow volunteers from around the world.

Your Accommodation & Meals

Your accommodation is included from Sunday night until Saturday morning of your last week, so you can rest assured that you’ll have a comfortable place to call home throughout your journey. You’ll be staying in shared rooms with other participants, giving you the perfect opportunity to make lifelong friends from around the world. You’ll be accommodated in single-gender rooms, ensuring maximum comfort and privacy.

But that’s not all – we’ve got your meals covered too. You’ll enjoy three delicious meals per day from Monday to Friday, and two meals per day on weekends.

Sri Lanka Road Trip

Dive into Sri Lanka’s rich culture with this epic three-week adventure!

Kick things off in Kandy, where you’ll explore lush spice gardens and visit incredible temples. Next, head to Ella to soak in some seriously stunning views before looping back to Kandy. From there, you’ll check out the cultural gems of Dambulla and climb the iconic Sigiriya Rock. In the final week, get hands-on with turtle conservation in Ambalangoda, helping out with real conservation projects. By the end, you’ll leave not only with amazing memories but also knowing you made a real difference!

Get ready for an awesome three-week journey through Sri Lanka’s vibrant culture and natural beauty!

Start your adventure in Kandy, a city full of tradition and good vibes. Check out spice gardens, explore local markets, and witness Buddhist rituals in beautiful temples.

In week two, hop on the scenic train to Ella, where you’ll hike to epic viewpoints and dive into local eats. After a chill break back in Kandy, you’ll head out to explore the famous Dambulla caves and the breathtaking Sigiriya Rock, a UNESCO World Heritage site.

For the final week, head to Ambalangoda for an exciting sea turtle conservation project. You’ll be cleaning turtle tanks, caring for these amazing creatures, and keeping the beaches clean. Activities depend on the weather, but it’s always a meaningful experience.

By the end of this trip, you’ll leave with unforgettable memories—from exploring rich cultural sites to making a real difference in turtle conservation. You’ll head home on day 20, with plenty of stories to tell!

Embark on a train ride to Ella, renowned as one of the most picturesque train rides in the world.

Hike to Little Adam’s Peak for stunning views
Visit the Nine Arch Bridge for its architectural beauty
Stroll through Ella town and enjoy local cuisine
Day 10: Wednesday
Travel back to Kandy via train and unwind by the pool, enjoying a relaxing day.
Day 11: Thursday
Journey to Dambulla and explore the iconic Sigiriya Rock. Sigiriya Rock, also known as Lion Rock, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Sri Lanka. It’s an ancient rock fortress rising dramatically from the surrounding plains.
Climbing to the top offers breathtaking panoramic views and a glimpse into Sri Lanka’s rich heritage.
Day 12: Friday
experience the sunrise atop Pidurangala Mountain, explore Riverston, and then journey back to Kandy.
Day 13: Saturday
Saturday: Unwind and enjoy a relaxing day in Kandy.
Day 14: Sunday
Catch an early morning train to Ambalangoda.

Week 3

Day 15 – 19: Monday to Friday
Join activities at the sea turtle conservation program in Ambalangoda
The activities change according to the beach weather conditions and the number of participants but spending time with these marvelous creatures is the main aim of our participants’ involvement.
This program requires your dedication and support. Cleaning the turtles and their tanks at the turtle conservation center is the main thing you have to do. That is because it is vital to have a clean and hygienic center for these animals.
Typical activities during the week would include,
Feeding the turtles (every other day)
Cleaning the tanks
Cleaning the turtles
Cleaning the beach
Helping with the weekly release of over 100 newborn turtles into the ocean (depending on the weather and season).
