The local team will be waiting for you, ready to transfer you to your accommodation where you’ll meet fellow participants from around the world.

Your accommodation is included from Sunday night until Saturday morning of your last week, so you can rest assured that you’ll have a comfortable place to call home throughout your journey. You’ll be staying in shared rooms with other participants, giving you the perfect opportunity to make lifelong friends from around the world. You’ll be accommodated in single-gender rooms, ensuring maximum comfort and privacy. But that’s not all – we’ve got your meals covered too!

Zanzibar Road Trip

Experience the magic of Zanzibar Island on an exhilarating journey filled with cultural immersion and stunning landscapes.

Discover the rich history of Stone Town and visit Prison Island, then venture along the captivating east coast, exploring spice farms and the charming village of Makunduchi. Embark on a captivating dolphin tour, snorkel near THE ROCK, and unwind on NUNGWI’s pristine beaches. Join a sunset cruise, take a thrilling cycling trip, and make a difference through a community project. Get ready for an unforgettable adventure that will leave a lasting impression.

This is an eco-tourism travel program that allows you to visit the most beautiful places in Zanzibar in 14 days! Traveling through this island allows you to experience everything from its amazing culture, beautiful beaches, and unique nature to its sublime cuisine. This program is environmentally friendly, which is consistent with our organization’s values.

When you arrive at Zanzibar Airport/Ferry Port, you will be met by our tour guide. After you check into your hotel, you will be given a thorough orientation to your travel itinerary. The following day, you will begin your adventure early in the morning by exploring the unique and historic Stone Town, which is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Experience this wonderful heritage town tour that takes you through the town’s narrow streets and onto the panoramic rooftops with views of the Indian Ocean. Following the tour, your day will continue with a traditional wooden boat ride to Prison Island, also known as Changuu Island, or the home of the giant tortoises. After that, you will return to your hotel for the night.

On the next day of your journey, go on an adventure to learn about spices in the Rural areas of the island. Your day will conclude with a flavorful homemade spice lunch.

After a two-week adventure, you will join a community project where you will be able to contribute to a social project and give back to the community. You can get involved in education, childcare, and construction and renovation projects.

Aims & Objectives Zanzibar Road Trip

The objective of this program is to provide participants with an authentic experience of Kenya, by fully immersing them in the country’s culture, customs, and way of life. Additionally, the program offers opportunities for engagement in community projects and activities, aimed at enhancing understanding of the local community’s lifestyle.

Itinerary Zanzibar Road Trip

Week 1

Day 1: Sunday
Our coordinator will meet you at the airport and transport you to our Stone Town accommodation, where you will spend the first two nights.

Day 2: Monday
The day begins with a full orientation and overview of the road trip. Thereafter, you will be heading for a tour of the historic Stone Town followed by a tour of Prison Island.

Day 3: Tuesday
We depart to “Makunduchi ”, the South -Coast of Stone Town, via a Spice farm, where you will learn about herbs and spices. The evening will be finished with a bonfire, dinner, and a briefing.

Day 4: Wednesday
It will be an early morning rise today for you as you will join an early morning dolphin tour. Then visit the very first Mosque ever built in Kizimkazi village, and thereafter visit Makunduchi Village for a cultural experience.

Day 5: Thursday
You will travel to Jozani Forest and Mangrove Forest, then to Ngunga Cave and Paje Beach for a packed lunch before returning to Makunduchi.

Day 6: Friday
Today you will be helping renovating at a local school followed by evening activities

Day 7: Saturday
Today is a day for chilling and Snorkeling close to the reef by Upendo Beach, opposite The Rock restaurant.

Week 2

Day 8: Sunday
Today you will travel to Matemwe and visit and indulge in the culture at Matemwe Village, where you can relax all afternoon and take a walk on the beach.

Day 9: Monday
Today you will be at Mnemba Atoll, where you will be snorkeling and learning about marine life.

Day 10: Tuesday
We start the day by traveling to “Nungwi” and visiting the Natural Aquarium for Sea Turtles, where you will help the staff out with some of the daily activities of the sea turtles.

Visit the Natural Aquarium for Sea Turtles, where you will help the staff out with some of the sea turtles daily activities.

Today you will visit the Natural Aquarium for Sea Turtles, where you will help the staff out with some of the daily activities of the sea turtles.

Today you will visit the Natural Aquarium for Sea Turtles, where you will help the staff out with some of the daily activities of the sea turtles.

Day 14: Saturday
Today will be your last day of the Discover Zanzibar Road Trip. You will start the day today with a cycling tour through Nungwi, and in the evening you will head on a Sunset Cruise on a traditional Wooden boat with snacks, followed by a BBQ on the beach.

Week 3

Day 15: Sunday
Today we head back to our Stone Town accommodation, where you take a rest after much traveling.
In the evening, we will conduct a briefing for the coming week of the community engagement project.

Day 16 – 20: Monday to Friday
Community Engagement project
After an adventure of two weeks, you will join a community project where you can contribute to a social project and give back to the community. You can join teaching, childcare, and construction and renovation projects.

Day 21: Saturday
Head to the airport for your departure.
